Hi, my name is Mirjam, I am a librarian and come from Switzerland. Even as a little girl I was crazy about horses. After a few years of vaulting and riding lessons in different places I switched to a stable with Icelandic horses and since then I am totally captivated by gaited horses.
The desire to travel to the mystical Iceland myself grew and in 2013, after graduating from college, it finally happend: a multi-day-riding tour and a few bus tours cemented my Iceland-obsession. And since then I have been traveling to the island at least once a year and gradually I explore every corner, whether on horseback, by car or on foot.
In this blog I write about my three passions: traveling in Iceland, Icelandic horses and reading. I am not a professional photographer and all articles are based on my own experiences. I hope I can pass on my enthusiasm for Iceland and provide you with a lot of information and inspiration.

Hallo, ich heisse Mirjam, bin Bibliothekarin und komme aus der Schweiz. Schon als kleines Mädchen war ich total pferdeverrückt. Nach einigen Jahren Voltigieren und Reitstunden an verschiedenen Orten wechselte ich mit 15 Jahren zu einem Stall mit Islandpferden und seither hat mich das Gangpferdefieber nicht mehr losgelassen.
Natürlich wurde dann auch der Wunsch immer grösser, einmal selbst in das sagenhafte Island zu reisen und 2013, zum Abschluss meines Studiums, klappte es dann endlich: eine mehrtägige Reittour und einige Bus-Tagestouren festigten meine Island-Besessenheit. Und seither reise ich jedes Jahr mindestens einmal auf die Insel und erkunde nach und nach alle Ecken, ob auf dem Pferderücken, mit dem Auto oder zu Fuss über Stock und Stein.
In diesem Blog vereine ich meine drei Leidenschaften: das Reisen in Island, die Islandpferde und das Lesen. Ich bin keine professionelle Fotografin und alle Artikel basieren auf meinen eigenen Erfahrungen und Erlebnissen. Ich hoffe mit diesem Blog meine Begeisterung für Island weiterzugeben und dich mit vielen Informationen und Inspirationen zu versorgen.
